All fitted together easily. Well built. Solid without being heavy. Extremely quiet to run. My only comment is that for the model purchased I am not enthralled with the aesthetics of the 6 holes on the underside of the fan blades for the screws used to mount the blades to the motor. Plugs would be a usefull inclusion. In fact I have ordered some on line to do just that.

We recently purchased 5 ceiling fans. We first narrowed down the range based on ratings in Choice Magazine Australia’s review of ceiling fans. We wanted something whisper-quiet for the bedrooms and with some good air movement for our living areas.
We boiled it down to a shortlist of 4, three from Fanco and one from Brilliant. The first preference was for The Brilliant Cayman model. This was cheaper than the Fanco Wynd by $50 per unit. However, I was informed that it was soon to be replaced by a new model and we couldn’t get existing stock in time for our electrician to install them.
Of the remaining three Fanco fans, only the Wynd had the extra air movement rating for the living areas. It was however more expensive than the others.
The big problem with choosing fans is that it is difficult to see them in operation before purchase – this unless you are buying from a large showroom retailer. Unfortunately, they only stock their own brand fans.
So we made the decision to purchase the Fanco Wynd with the whitewash wooden blades without having seen them in operation. We were very much trusting others’ reviews and Choice magazine.
Having had them installed, we are delighted with both their performance and aesthetics. They look beautiful, they are quiet, and they are powerful on their top speed. The remotes are easy to use and the electrician informed us that they were easy to install.
So we are happy with our choice in the end. I would recommend these fans to anyone. They are expensive compared to the Fanco Eco-Silent and Infinity-i DC, but they add so much more in terms of style to a room.
As mentioned, we were on a tight timeline to get our electrician’s availability to install. We purchased from Fans Online because they guaranteed delivery within 2 working days. They lived up to that promise. Other sites were offering 5-10 working days delivery. But prices do vary but the speed of delivery was more important to us.
A final note if you are installing ceiling fans, with this model you can link multiple fans to a single remote. So we have five fans, only 3 remotes. Less of them to lose!
