1. What does the Claro SMART Connect do?
It allows you to control your compatible Claro and Claro Essentials ceiling fan using your smartphone. Once connected to your home Wi-Fi network, you can adjust settings and operate your fan from anywhere using the Tuya app.
2. What smart features are available?
Basic settings such as:

- Allows you to control a single fan or create a group with multiple fans to run in sync with each other
- Schedule the fan to turn ON/OFF based on your routine. A great feature for parents if they have a fan with a light in the kid’s room scheduled to dim down at a certain time
- Allows you to set a rule that turns the fans on automatically when the weather gets too warm for your liking.
- Allows you to automatically switch off any connected devices when you leave your home.

3. Which app do I use to control my fan?
Compatible fans can be controlled using the Tuya app, available free for both iOS and Android devices.
4. Can the remote control work in tandem with the Tuya app?
Yes. Installing the SMART Connect does not replace your existing remote control. You can continue using the remote while also controlling your fan through the app.
5. Which ceiling fans is this SMART Connect compatible with?

6. Can I add this Claro SMART Connect to my existing ceiling fan?
This SMART Connect chip is only compatible with selected Claro and Claro Essentials ceiling fan models. If you already own a compatible fan, the chip may be added to enable SMART control (must be installed by a licensed electrician). Please check the compatibility information on this page or contact our team before purchasing to ensure it is suitable for your fan.
7. Can I install the SMART Connect myself?
The chip is installed within the ceiling fan assembly. Whether you’re purchasing a new fan or adding it to an existing fan, installation should be carried out by a licensed electrician.
8. How many SMART Connect units do I need?
Each compatible Claro or Claro Essentials ceiling fan requires one SMART Connect unit. If you have multiple compatible fans, you will need a separate unit for each fan to enable smart control features.
9. Does the SMART Connect require a hub?
No. The chip connects directly to your home’s Wi-Fi network, so no additional hub or bridge is required.
10. Can I control my fan when I’m away from home?
Yes. As long as your SMART chip is connected to your home Wi-Fi network and your smartphone has an internet connection, you can control your compatible fan from virtually anywhere.
11. Does the fan still work if the internet or Wifi goes down?
Yes. Your compatible Claro or Claro Essentials ceiling fan can still be operated using the remote control; it functions independently of the SMART Connect. While app control will be unavailable until your connection is restored, all remote control functions will continue to operate as normal.
12. Does the SMART Module require Wi-Fi, and is it compatible with all home networks?
The SMART Connect requires a Wi-Fi connection for setup, app control, and smart home features. It is compatible with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks only and does not support 5GHz-only networks. If your router broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, simply connect the module to the 2.4GHz network during setup.
