As you add ducting to a fan it will impact the extraction rate as this introduces resistance. Installation was a bit more difficult than anticipated because the required cut out is not circular: although mostly it is a 240mm diameter hole, there is a sector with a bigger diameter (ca. 250mm). Soon sorted (1920s lath and plaster ceiling) but more work than a straight swap for the existing fan (240mm diameter hole). Very happy with the finished fan, however, which works very well extracting air from a high-ceilinged shower room and is wonderfully quiet. Recomended.

I replaced my standard $30 airflow exhaust fan with this. It is very quite, but it doesnt produce the airflow required even for a small ensuite. Might be okay in a toilet at a pinch.
